Human Fingerprints
Allah Almighty told us 1400 years ago about the creation of fingerprints in human and referred to its uniqueness. Let us read……… |
Many years ago, it was proved that every single human has a unique fingerprint that differ from man to another and from woman to another so that you can ever never find two people with the same fingerprints.
The importance of Fingerprints
Fingerprints offer an infallible means of personal identification. That is the essential explanation for their having supplanted other methods of establishing the identities of criminals reluctant to admit previous arrests.
History of fingerprints
Juan Vucetich, an Argentine Police Official, began the first fingerprint files based on Galton pattern types.
Sir Francis Galton, a British anthropologist and a cousin of Charles Darwin, began his observations of fingerprints as a means of identification in the 1880's.
Juan Vucetich made the first criminal fingerprint identification in 1892. He was able to identify Francis Rojas, a woman who murdered her two sons and cut her own throat in an attempt to place blame on another. Her bloody print was left on a door post, proving her identity as the murderer.
Today, the largest AFIS repository in America is operated by the Department of Homeland Security's US Visit Program, containing over 100 million persons' fingerprints, many in the form of two-finger records.
All US states and many large cities have their own AFIS databases, each with a subset of fingerprint records that is not stored in any other database. Thus, law enforcement fingerprint interface standards are very important to enable sharing records and reciprocal searches for identifying criminals.
Using fingerprints in criminal identification is not limited to US but it extends to the whole world.
New commercial applications for fingerprints
Today, and according to the robust trust in the uniqueness of fingerprints, there are many applications which are used and based on fingerprints identification such as:
Fingerprints and travelling
According to a BBC report, Passengers flying into Gatwick Airport in the UK are having their fingerprints recorded. The aim of the new system is to flush out false visa applications and strengthen border security at the airport.
Travellers have digital photographs and fingerprints checked, and anyone found attempting to come into the UK illegally will be refused entry.
The workings of the trial were seen by Immigration Minister Liam Byrne.
Mr. Byrne said: "New fingerprint visas are fast becoming our first line of defense against illegal immigration.
Also, International airline passengers are fingerprinted on all ten fingers by U.S. Customs and Border.
Human fingerprints are in the Holy Qur’an
Allah Almighty always wants us to contemplate in His unlimited ability of creation, so He Almighty mentioned in the Qur’an that He is Almighty the one who created the fingerprints of us by saying: (Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones?* Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers.){Sûrat Al-Qiyâmah- The Resurrection-verse3-4}
My beloved, did you hear at any time during the recent and previous history that anyone claims that he is the one who created the fingerprints or that he or she can choose his or her fingerprints by his or her own?
The answer is no, because Allah Almighty is the creator of human and all universe and no one can made such claim.
Here we remember the holy verse as Allah Almighty says about Himself: (So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators){ Sûrat Al-Mu’minûn -The Believers-verse14}
